Community Transformation and Empowerment Initiative (CTREIN) is a Christian-founded Community Based Organization located 216Kms from Uganda’s Capital City – Kampala, in the Mid-western Region. CTREIN Head Office is located in Kinogozi-A Cell, Kisiita Ward, Karujubu Division, in Masindi Municipality, Masindi District, Uganda.
The Organization’s primary mandate is to influence positive mind-change among vulnerable communities, through equipping them with life skills, and empowering them to become more socially connected and financially self-reliant.
Unlike many CSOs, CTREIN manages its Programmes based on a sustainable self-reliance financing model, which enables it to generate funds to finance its operations, and in the process facilitates a culture of financial independence among its beneficiaries.
The beneficiaries have an opportunity to access subsidized products and services, which are made available under various Programmes. In special circumstances, CTREIN extends total waivers to beneficiaries who demonstrate inability to afford the discounted products and services. The Organization also manages a Business Centre, a Community SACCO, and a Hybrid Business Start-up Grant financing initiative.
